Cobbs Creek

Project Cobbs Creek was originally a single house that was modified into a duplex. Even though the entire space was gutted to make room for all the structural changes we needed, we wanted to keep the maximum of the house's antique elements we could.

For the first floor unit, we kept this stunning brick fireplace and added Venetian plaster on top to tie the space together. In the kitchen, we added a colorful blue backsplash paired it with brass fixtures to create contrast. We wanted to make the unit unique and far from the usual builder grade, so we came up with the idea to add wood posts on the island to be a charming accent piece and add a stained glass transom above the door.

Mixing pieces with different styles to make this apartment unit feel like a house while keeping its historical features and antique character throughout was an essential part of this project.
